Channel Islands Occupation

The Channel Islands, which sit in the English Channel off the coast of France, were the only part of the British Isles occupied by Nazi Germany during World War II. The Nazi occupation of those islands lasted five years—most of the war. Channel Islands native Jenny Lecoat grew up hearing stories of her family’s resistance efforts during the occupation. Now Lecoat has turned the true stories of two women who were part of that resistance into her first novel: “The Girl from the Channel Island.” (Originally aired March 1st, 2021)
