Moving People Away from Natural Disaster Areas

A report from the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change says the world is on track for increasingly catastrophic fires, droughts, floods, and storms without quick action to dramatically reduce greenhouse gas emissions. What can communities do to prepare for extreme weather like that? Disaster researcher A.R. Siders studies something called “managed retreat” that could help.
