And if you’re a woman, well, good luck with that.  Mustachioed individuals significantly outnumber women as leaders of medical departments across the country. We’re guessing it has less to do with the mustache and more to do with medicine being historically-dominated by men.

Guest: Julie Menin, Commissioner of the New York City Department of Consumer Affairs  It pays to be a man when shopping for things like razors, body wash – even bike helmets and knee pads for kids. A comprehensive comparison published last December that evaluated 800 such products with male and female versions found items marketed to girls and women cost an average of 7 percent more than those for boys and men. That means that over her lifetime, a woman will spend thousands of dollars more to purchase products branded for women.  Read the full report here
