There are about 100 active micronations around the world right now, with a large cluster in Australia. And you’re asking –what’s a micronation? Well, it’s basically somebody –or a group of people –declaring themselves independent from any other nation. And while they’re generally harmless, the urge some people have to declare themselves beyond the reach of government does carry risks for countries with micronations. Harry Hobbs studies micronations and is a professor of law at the University of Technology Sydney in Australia. (Segment produced by Sam Faulconer)
