BYU’s Annual Primrose Memorial Concert honors legendary violist William Primrose and features renowned violists from around the globe – this year; SHEILA BROWNE. Sheila Browne is an acclaimed international soloist, chamber musician, professor, and principal player, who has performed in major halls on five continents. The New York Times reviewed her as a "stylish player" and Robert Mann of the Juilliard Quartet called her "one of America's most important violists.” She's also been a member of the Arianna, Gotham and Pellegrini String Quartets. Today with pianist Jeffrey Shumway she performs her music of Joseph Jongen (Allegro Appassionato, op. 79),a bit of her own transcription of Sergei Prokofiev's Sonata for Cello and Piano in C Major, op. 119, and Manuel de Falla's Suite Populaire Espagnole!
