"Every Eye is Upon Me” Highlights Lives of First Ladies

The job of the First Lady comes with no official duties. Not every spouse of the President of the United States has even been considered important enough to have an official portrait made. The Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery showcased a special exhibit of all of the First Ladies' paintings that do exist.
