About a quarter of Americans have a fear of needles. That prevents many from getting important shots, like the COVID-19 vaccine. But there’s a new injection method that might change that. It ditches the long, scary needle for a patch with lots of teeny-tiny needles. And here’s the best part: the patch doesn’t hurt like a normal shot. Mark Prausnitz, Regents' Professor of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering and director of the Center for Drug Design, Development, and Delivery at Georgia Tech, is one of the researchers developing this microneedle patch.
