We always talk about the heart as if it plays a part in our emotions, even though it’s just an organ. Our hearts can be full of love or sink in disappointment. But research shows the heart really does influence our emotions. Sarah Garfinkel has conducted multiple studies on the heart. She’s a professor of clinical and affective neuroscience at Brighton and Sussex Medical School in England.
