Apr 26, 2021 • 14m
As sea levels rise, coastal forests are at risk of salt poisoning. What’s left behind is sometimes called a “ghost forest.” This phenomenon is occurring all along the Eastern Coast of the United States. But is there a way to reverse those effects on the forests? Ecologist and Duke University Ph.D. grad Emily Ury is monitoring the status of one ghost forest in North Carolina.
