There’s a kind of commercial fishing in the ocean that’s causing more harm to the environment than previously thought: bottom trawling. Trisha Atwood heads the Aquatic Ecology and Global Change lab at Utah State University and recently co-authored a report looking at what kinds of conservation efforts would make the most sense in the Earth’s oceans.
