A quarter of all children in the United States were born in another country or have a parent who was. So their extended families span different time zones, languages, and cultures. Author Livia Blackburne turned her story of leaving Taiwan at the age of five and missing her beloved grandmother into a tender new picture book called “I Dream of Popo,” which was illustrated by Julia Kuo.
