Asteroid Research

A NASA mission that’s spent the last 5 years studying an Asteroid is headed back to Earth this afternoon. In 2016, NASA sent OSIRIS-REx to Bennu, an asteroid in our solar system that has silently witnessed the events in our solar system’s 4.6 billion-year history. Today, it returns with a bounty of asteroid material for scientists to study. But what are scientists looking for? What can this sample tell us about our solar system?
