"Model, Countess, Author, Spy" was the headline of Aline Griffith’s New York Times obituary in 2017 when she died at the age of 94. Although her many memoirs outlined the countless adventures she had as an American spy during World War II, she was prone to exaggeration. Many of the events she recounted probably didn't happen. Larry Loftis argues in his new book, "The Princess Spy," that the truth about Griffith's life is plenty exciting without all the made-up stuff.
