The wife of Sinaloa Cartel boss “El Chapo” Guzman was arrested by federal officials in Virginia last week for conspiring to smuggle drugs into the U.S. and for helping her husband tunnel out of a Mexican prison in 2015. Women have a more active role in the Sinaloa Cartel than pop culture stereotypes would suggest.
