Britain’s most famous piece of needlework was created almost a thousand years ago and is more than 220 feet long. It looks like a really long comic strip made of thread and fabric that depicts one of the most important battles in England’s history. The Bayeux Tapestry, as it’s called, is also wrapped in mystery. Michael Lewis, head of Portable Antiquities at the British Museum, co-wrote the new guide “The Story of the Bayeux Tapestry: Unraveling the Norman Conquest.” (AP Photo/Kamil Zihnioglu, File)
