So, here’s this 8-year-old piano whiz working with 80-year-olds. Sneed has gone on to great acclaim recording and composing in a range of musical genres from jazz to classical to gospel opera. His current project is an album and concert series called We Shall Overcome. She’s a beekeeper and author of “The Honey Bus: A Memoir of Loss, Courage and a Girl Saved By Bees.” When she was five, May’s parents divorced and virtually disappeared from her life. She was sent to live with her grandparents in Big Sur, California. Her grandpa kept bees, and it was from him and the hives that May says she learned the most important lessons of her life – about hard work, resilience and community.
