Maddie Wilson’s in the studio! She’s recently back from Nashville where she’s been working on her upcoming album. In this hour she’ll showcase her songwriting chops with performances of several new original songs. And host Steven Kapp Perry will chat with Maddie and her mom, Susan, about life, performing and alfalfa tea. Listen to the show and you’ll understand! Maddie Wilson’s story is one that’s not common but is becoming more familiar. As a kid she loved to sing and make music. She played the guitar and the piano. One day she put a video on YouTube. More videos went on YouTube. And then one went viral. In Maddie's case it was a cover of a Taylor Swift song that drew the first million views. After that she had an EP out, two #1 hit songs on the Indie Country Charts, and now it’s Nashville, an album, and the biggest touring year of her young life. If you’ve happened upon Maddie Wilson's videos before today than you know that she’s covered plenty of pop songs. But before you doubt the amount of hay in her soul you should know this: she wore cowboy boots to her prom, rides horses, can properly fasten a western belt buckle and drive a tractor.
