Sometimes the best piano lessons happen without a piano! Steinway Artist and Assistant Professor of Piano at Florida State University, Joel Hastings is beloved by his students. Lessons have been known to happen over Vietnamese noodles or in the middle of the night, where the concepts and philosophies of music are discussed and nurtured.  In addition to his teaching prowess, Joel is the winner of the 8th International Web Concert Hall Competition and the International Bach Competition at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. Today he shares with us the never-before-heard-on-radio compositions of living American composer Carter Pann, from his collection The Piano’s 12 Sides.  Repertoire: PANN The Piano's 12 Sides: Silhouette; Soiree Macabre; Orion; Cradle Song; Grande Etude; Irish Tune  Follow Highway 89 on twitter @byuH89
