Today Highway 89 goes on the road for one of our House Concerts! This edition is graciously hosted by Liz and Andrew Maxfield.  Laura Cortese studied violin at Berklee College of Music in Boston, and now spends her time immersing herself in the city's vibrant indie music scene and enjoyed a busy sideman career. She’s a singer, fiddler, songwriter and composer who has concertized across the US and in the UK, Spain, Ireland and Denmark. She's appeared with Pete Seeger at the Newport Folk Festival, with Band of Horses at Carnegie Hall, and with Patterson Hood and Michael Franti for Seeger's 90th birthday celebration at Madison Square Garden.  Mariel Vandersteel studied violin at Berklee College of Music and studied hardingfele in Norway, the country's national instrument. In 2009 she released a solo album, entitled "Hickory."  Together they perform and Laura chats with host Bruce Seely about the impact music has had in her life.  Selections featured: "Train on the Island," "Greasy Coat," "Village Green," "Life is Good Blues,"  "Take Your Time," and "Heel to Toe"  Follow Highway 89 on twitter: @byuh89 and on instagram: @byuh89
