Small Nuclear Reactors

US regulators recently approved the design for a “small modular reactor." But actually building one in the US is will require additional regulatory approval and nobody’s applied for that yet. We speak with Jacopo Buongiorno to see the pros and cons of the reactor. He is a professor of Nuclear Science and Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
