Tonight the scenic route of Highway 89 takes us to where many consider to be the musical capital of the world: Vienna, Austria. Two of classical music’s greatest composers – Mozart and Brahms – lived and worked there a generation apart and tonight we are showcasing two of their accompanied sonatas, performed by Utah musicians Kurt Hansen and Robert Landes. Robert Landes has a Master’s degree in violin performance at Rice University in Houston, Texas, has soloed with the Utah Symphony and the San Diego Chamber Orchestra, been a fellow at the Tanglewood Music Festival in Massachusetts, and played Carnegie Hall. Kurt Hansen studied piano performace at the University of Missouri - Kansas City and has completed an MBA at Brigham Young University. Together they share with us some of the greatest works from some of the greatest composers from the greatest city: Vienna.
