The Apollo 15 mission was just about to land on the moon 50 years ago. It wasn’t the first, but it did accomplish a lot of firsts. The Apollo 15 astronauts spent nearly three full days on the lunar surface—the longest of any space mission at that point. They were the first mission to deploy a lunar rover.
