Today in the studio we have the winners of our KBYU-FM/Classical 89 high school choir competition: the Timpanogos Chamber Singers with conductor Steve Durtschi. They’ll sing everything from the Venezuelan infused “Mata del Anima Sola,” to classical songs of Samuel Barber and Conrad Susa, and also a cover of Pentatonix’s “Say Something.” The choir performs each year at the Alpine Masterworks Festival and the Timpanogos Masterworks Concert. They’ve worked with conductors like: Craig Jessop, Mack Wilberg, Ryan Murphy, Anton Armstrong and Ronald Staheli. And throughout the school year the students pile into buses and head off for regional and state music festivals. Follow Highway 89 on twitter @byuH89
