Every other year The National Association of Teachers of Singing sponsors a vocal competition and our guest today, Clara Hurtado Lee, recently won the Harold Stark Award during the semi-final round in Boston. An honor that follows her previous 1st place win in the Cal-Western region. If you live in Utah, you might recognize Mrs. Lee as a soprano that’s concertized with Utah Symphony & Utah Opera, the Salt Lake Choral Artists, Utah Lyric Opera, Utopia Early Music and The American West Symphony. Today she performs lovely but rarely heard repertoire with pianist Jeffrey Price: SABIO Virgen Madre Groriosa; VALCARCEL Chillilin Uth’aja; VALCARCEL Suray Surita; HEGGIE Not in a Silver Casket; VERDI Rigoletto:  Caro Nome; MILHAUD A Cupidon, Tais-toi Babillarde Arondelle Follow Highway 89 on twitter @byuH89
