This crazy time where we are all staying at home as much as possible could potentially be a very memorable time for you and your family. Today for Lisa’s Adventure Club, we want to show you how to have fun while indoors and come up with unique ways to keep your kids entertained. Reconnecting With Teenagers (0:15:50) The teen years are weird and awkward for everybody, but they can be especially hard on boys and their parents. Sometimes, sweet and talkative little boys will become sullen and reserved as they get older. As a parent, this can be scary! How do you stay close with your son throughout his teenage years? Here with us to answer this question is Dr. Laura Markham. She is a psychologist, author, and parenting coach. Dry Hands and Handwashing (0:37:04) The CDC has advised that we wash our hands thoroughly and often to stay healthy. In fact, there are 5 steps to wash your hands the right way: Wet, Lather, Scrub, Rinse and Dry. But that last step may be leaving a lot of you with flaked, dry, cracked hands that are actually more susceptible to germs and other bacteria according to the American Academy of Dermatology. Moisturizing is an important step to the handwashing process, and to help us understand how we can best implement good techniques is Dr. Adam Friedman of the American Academy of Dermatology. Social Distancing (0:50:34) As we are all dealing with the coronavirus, we would like to reinforce the idea of social distancing. The CDC has guidelines for how you can implement this practice, and encourages everyone to make a conscious effort to follow.
