But she was not the only female pilot in the early 1900s shattering records in the sky. A handful of others were just as famous – and some were even better pilots - Ruth Nichols, Louise Thaden, Ruth Elder. They were known as the “Fly Girls,” which is the title of journalist Keith O’Brien’s new book.
