Utopia Early Music is a Salt Lake City-based, award-winning ensemble founded in 2009 by Christopher Lecluyse and Emily Nelson. Like most early music ensembles, they perform concerts of medieval, renaissance, and baroque repertoire. Unlike most other early music ensembles, they’re also known to divert from that format and collaborate with artists of other genres and to perform 20th century pieces.  Utopia is comprised of musicians Emily Nelson (soprano,) Valerie Hart Nelson (contralto,) Christopher Lecluyse (tenor,) Ricky Parkinson (bass,) Mary Danzig (fiddle,) and Peter Danzig (mountain dulcimer.) They’ve released two CDs: “The Flawed Pearl: Music of the English and the Italian Baroque” and “The American Muse.”  utopiaearlymusic.org Host: Bruce Seely  Repertoire: Hail Mary – Anonymous; Breves dies hominis – Notre Dame rondellus; The Morning Trumpet – Benjamin Franklin White; Poor Wayfaring Stranger – American Traditional; Lilium floruit, Abbonda di virtu – Francesco Landini;  Follow Highway 89 on twitter: @byuh89 and on instagram: @byuh89
